The Detroit Tigers have to be pleased with their results in the events leading up to Tuesday night's All-Star Game.
On Sunday, at the All-Star Futures Game that featured many of baseball's top minor leaguers, 20-year-old third baseman Nick Castellanos got three hits, including a three-run homer, and was named most valuable player.
On Monday, at the Home Run Derby, Prince Fielder rallied from a slow start to capture his second derby title in four years. He routinely deposited balls into the outfield fountains at Kauffman Stadium and finished with 28 home runs.
