The look on Danny Briere's face last Saturday in New York was a smirky, just-can't-believe-it crooked smile. The Flyers center was talking about his violet on-ice collision in the first period with teammate Andreas Nodl, who was shaken up to the point that he played a couple more shifts and then missed the rest of a 2-0 loss to the Rangers.

"That's just what we need these days," Briere said afterward in the Flyers dressing room at Madison Square Garden.

Every game it seems as if the Flyers are dealing with a fresh injury.
