"Chipper Jones took batting practice and fielded groundballs for the second consecutive day Tuesday but his quadriceps still bothers him fielding balls to either side. He's likely to be relegated to pinch hitting through the end of the Nationals series Wednesday.

"Overextending for groundballs is still pretty uncomfortable, having to go three or four steps to my left or right," Jones said Tuesday. "Hitting, throwing, fielding groundballs right at me, not a big deal. Every-day stuff, having to play defense and run the bases is still not good."
