The Predators have traded forward Bobby Butler to Florida for Panthers defenseman T.J. Brennan. Both are pending restricted free agents.

Brennan, 24, was a second round draft pick by the Buffalo Sabres in 2007. He was traded by Buffalo to the Panthers on March 15 for a fifth round draft pick. This past season, Brennan played a career-high 29 games for the Sabres and the Panthers. Following his trade to Florida, Brennan had two goals and seven assists in 19 games.

The 6-foot-1, 214-pound Brennan just finished a one-year contract worth $550,000 at the NHL level and $95,000 at the AHL level.
