It’s a scary moment for the Predators when captain Shea Weber goes down and winces in pain.

Fortunately for the Predators, Weber’s upper-body injury proved to be no obstacle in a 4-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets. Without their All-Star in the third period, the Predators took the lead and held on.

“Obviously, when you miss your captain, that’s never good,” Predators defenseman Roman Josi said. “He’s your best player, and you want him out there. But I think everybody stepped up, and the defense did a great job at the end.”

The win left the Predators 2-1-1 on the Canadian trip that started in Vancouver and went through Calgary and Edmonton. The win also pushed the Predators (24-23-8) ahead of the red-hot Jets (25-25-5) and kept Nashville out of last place in the Central Division.
