Monday was a well-deserved day off for the Blackhawks following six games — and six victories — in nine days to start the 2013 season.

They have a scheduled practice Tuesday before departing for Minnesota, where they will kick off a six-game trip against the Wild on Wednesday night. Due to the frenetic pace of the lockout-shortened season, Tuesday's practice will be the Hawks' first since Jan. 18 when they took the ice in Los Angeles the day before the season opener.

"We find that with days off they have more pace to their game than when we do skate," coach Joel Quenneville said. "We'll make sure we have enough rest going into games and we'll gauge our schedule and how they're feeling. We don't anticipate having a lot of practice days this year."
