The Portland Trail Blazers have signed center Georgios Papagiannis to a 10-day contract according to a report from Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Papagiannis, the No. 13 overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft, has played for Sacramento Kings during his brief NBA career posting averages of 4.2 points and 3.2 rebounds in 38 total appearances. Papagiannis was waived by the Kings at the 2018 NBA trade deadline after his numbers declined and he failed to crack the regular rotation, posting 2.1 points and 2.3 rebounds in roughly 16 minutes per game.

Papagiannis made headlines when he was drafted by the Kings - not because of his on-court exploits - but because Kings GM Vlade Divac absurdly decided to select him with the 13th overall pick when most draft boards had him nowhere near that high. He was slated to be taken nearly 40 picks later in the second round by Bleacher Report and others.
