Players' union VP Evans considering two European teams

"While literally dozens of NBA players have said they'll consider playing overseas should the lockout cause the cancellation of part or all of the 2011-12 NBA season, free agent small forward Maurice Evans, who is a vice president of the NBPA, may become the first players' union representative to sign a contract abroad.

Evans is in talks with two international teams, Spain's Real Madrid and Turkey's Anadolu Efes, Hoopsworld reports.

The union has come out in support of NBA players heading elsewhere during the lockout.

Evans, as an unrestricted free agent, does not need a letter or clearance from FIBA, basketball's governing body, in order to sign a deal with an international team, Hoopsworld notes."
