"Last year's first-round playoff series between the Celtics and the Bulls became an instant classic. It is remembered for multiple overtimes, late-game buzzer-beaters and a breakout performance from Chicago's rookie point guard Derrick Rose.

But go back and look more closely at that series and the most valuable Bull was arguably Ben Gordon, who needed nothing more than a few inches to get a shot off, who drained shot-clock dwindling threes for the better part of two weeks, who led the team in scoring during that series with 24 points a game.

The Pistons were hoping that clutch-shooting two-guard was the player they were getting when they signed him in the off-season.

At the moment, though, Gordon is suffering through his worst shooting season of his career. Never has he shot below 40% from the three-point line. So far this season he is converting only 29% of his threes. Against the Wizards on Friday, he scored 17 points and shot 2-for-5 from beyond the arc."
