Pistons' Ben Gordon takes advantage of starting role and could keep it

"It probably should have happened sooner, but Pistons coach John Kuester finally put Ben Gordon in the starting lineup.

The results paid immediate dividends when Gordon scored 25 points in the Pistons' 111-108 victory over the New Orleans Hornets on Sunday after missing his first seven shots.

"It took me awhile to get into a rhythm. I was hesitating," Gordon said. "I just wanted to come out and be more aggressive and not second-guess my shot.

"I've been having games like this my whole career. I'd never think they'd be so few and far between. ... Hopefully, that'll change."

It's hard to score when you don't get shot attempts. As a backup to Rip Hamilton, Gordon had few games in which he was able to take more than 10 shots."
