"The timing certainly seems odd.
Early Monday afternoon, guard Ben Gordon was asked if he was at ease this season, his first with the Detroit Pistons, after trade rumors followed him throughout his final season with the Chicago Bulls.
Early Monday evening, the Arizona Republic posted a story that included a rumor that Gordon could be a part of a three-team deal that would bring Amar'e Stoudemire to the Pistons.
After practice Monday, Gordon said trades and trade rumors are "part of our everyday lives." But he seemed relatively comfortable he would be with the Pistons for the foreseeable future.
"My name hasn't been in the talks as much this year, so I haven't had to really think about that or concentrate on that," Gordon said. "I wouldn't say I'm at ease. I'm just more focused on what's going to happen and how I can help us get better."
Gordon is averaging 16.1 points in 30 games this season for the Pistons. All his meaningful numbers for the season are below his career averages, but he has battled ankle and thigh injuries that have kept him out of 19 games and limited him in others.
The Arizona Republic story suggested the Pistons could send Gordon to Philadelphia and Chris Wilcox to Phoenix and receive Stoudemire in return. Andre Iguodala would move from Philadelphia to Phoenix in the rumored scenario.
The story failed to cite any source for the rumor. It simply referred to the three-team scenario as a possibility."
