"The Pirates are interested in signing free-agent pitcher Scott Olsen, according to an industry source Wednesday night.

Olsen, who will turn 27 in January, is a 6-foot-4 left-hander who has a 4.85 ERA in 127 career starts, including the past two seasons with Washington. The Nationals outrighted him off their 40-man roster earlier this month, and he chose free agency.
