"The Pirates announced today that they declined the club options on catchers Chris Snyder and Ryan Doumit, shortstop Ronny Cedeno and pitcher Paul Maholm.

The club was not expected to pick up the options on Snyder, Maholm or Doumit, though Cedeno had remained a possibility. The Pirates must now fill holes at catcher, shortstop and in the starting rotation.

Snyder's option was for $6.75 million, and he will earn a $750,000 buyout.

Cedeno had a $3 million option and will get a $200,000 buyout.

Maholm's option was for $9.75 million and he will get a $750,000 buyout.

Doumit had two options worth $15.5 million for 2012-13 that triggered simultaneously, and he will get a $500,000 buyout."
