New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas' status with the team is still in a holding pattern, according to his agent.

"Status quo on PT at the present time," Thomas' agent Lamont Smith tweeted on Saturday.

Thomas was rumored to be on the trading block Thursday as the Saints try to clear salary cap room ahead of free agency, which begins March 11.

"Can't confirm or deny whether the Saints are shopping PT. I do know that PT's heart is in New Orleans !" Smith tweeted after reports surfaced Thursday.

And his position is still in question after the Saints officially released Lance Moore and will release Darren Sproles, who tweeted his goodbyes on Friday night.

The picture didn't get any clearer Saturday morning after Saints free agent safety Malcolm Jenkins sent out a tweet indicating Thomas had been let go also.

"Man... @Pierre_Thomas @LanceMoore16 @Harp41 @DarrenSproles are all going to make another team very happy! Can't ask for better teammates!," Jenkins tweeted.

Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network, who said Friday that Thomas' status could be in danger, wrote Saturday that nothing has happened yet.

"A #Saints player tweeted as if Pierre Thomas was released, as well. At this point, he was not. Could happen, also could be back on new deal," Rapoport tweeted.
