Phoenix Suns' Jason Richardson OK with being 3rd option

"He is the Suns' leading postseason scorer, but Jason Richardson doesn't draw much attention after practice. While Steve Nash and Amar'e Stoudemire strategically place themselves in open areas to accommodate all the notebooks and cameras, Richardson simply plops on a folding chair next to a teammate.

The ninth-year guard insists he doesn't mind playing the third wheel on this team, which will try to rebound in Sunday night's Game 3 of the Western Conference finals against the Lakers. That's just Richardson's role, one he has grown to accept.

"I don't worry about (the lack of attention)," Richardson said. "As long as we're winning, that's all that matters to me. I don't care if I score five points, two points, whatever it is. I just want to win."

A prolific scorer, Richardson has been sharp throughout his postseason career. He played 11 games with the Golden State Warriors in 2007, averaging 19.1 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.0 assists. This time around, he simply has been the NBA's best postseason 3-point shooter, draining 50.6 percent of 79 attempts. In 12 games, he has averaged 21.8 points, key production that provides space for Stoudemire and Robin Lopez inside."
