Just five days after it was announced he had signed with the Mettalurg Magnitogorsk in the KHL the Phoenix Coyotes have announced that they have signed Gilbert Brule to a one year, two-way deal. Brule will have to clear waivers before he returns to the Portland Pirates, the Phoenix Coyotes' AHL affiliate, but after that he will be free to be called up by the Phoenix Coyotes if needed.

Brule has a history with the Coyotes. Two seasons ago he was acquired off waivers by the Coyotes and he had a pretty successful run with the team as they went to the Western Conference for the first time in team history. He played 33 games with the team and ended the regular season five goals and nine assists and appeared in 12 playoff games where he registered two goals and an assist.
