Dave Tippett knows the sacrifice and commitment it takes to string together hundreds of consecutive games. The Coyotes coach played in 417 in a row during one stretch of his NHL career.

"I was just too scared of losing my job all the time," he joked.

Keith Yandle, selected for the All-Star Game earlier this week, has 199 more to go to reach that mark, but Tippett knows the work ethic involved that has propelled the defenseman to elite status. That number will be cut by one when he takes the ice Monday as the Coyotes host the Colorado Avalanche.
