"The Phillies have signed pitchers Dave Bush and David Purcey and catcher Steven Lerud to minor-league contracts. All three have received invites to big-league spring training camp.

Bush, 32, is a local guy from Conestoga High School. The righthander is 56-69 in eight major-league seasons. He began last season in the majors with Texas then pitched in Triple A for the Cubs and Phillies. He could provide major-league depth this season."
