"The Phillies offered arbitration Wednesday to free agents pitcher Ryan Madson, outfielder Raul Ibanez and shortstop Jimmy Rollins. By offering arbitration to the three players, the Phillies will receive draft pick compensation should they sign elsewhere.

In the case of Rollins and Madson, the moves come as no surprise. Both players are in line for new multi-year deals, with Madson assuredly signing elsewhere after the Phillies inked closer Jonathan Papelbon to a four-year, $50-million deal earlier this month."
