Reds second baseman Brandon Phillips left Wednesday's game against the Brewers for precautionary reasons after being hit in the head by Aramis Ramirez's left forearm as he attempted to steal second base in the third inning.

Phillips recorded the out and lasted two more innings before being replaced by Miguel Cairo in the top of the sixth.

Phillips was 1-for-2 at the plate and drove in the Reds' first run of the game in the third on a liner to right field.
