Tuesday, Steve Spurrier clarified that his stunning midseason “retirement” was actually a resignation as South Carolina’s head coach. In his press conference, The Ol’ Ball Coach also acknowledged that he would have an interest in “maybe coaching a high school team” at some point down the road.

At least one coach at that level took to social media in a Hail Mary attempt to take Spurrier up on his intentions.

In a posting to his Twitter account, Dunham (La.) School head coach Neil Weiner offered his offensive coordinator position at the Baton Rouge Christian high school program to Spurrier. Weiner’s offer is effective immediately, so it’s up to Spurrier to say yea or nay to the (tongue-in-cheek) opportunity before it’s rescinded.
