Liverpool rejected a £120m offer from Barcelona despite their Brazilian midfielder wanting to quit Anfield for the Nou Camp.

There were concerns how committed Coutinho would be to the cause when his dream move collapsed.

But he was back to his best in Tuesday’s Champions League draw with Spartak Moscow when he scored for the second consecutive game.

And Coutinho says he is relaxed about his situation and remains focused.

“I’m calm,” he said. “It’s all passed by, I’m here to defend the colours, to give my maximum.”

Coutinho was disappointed that Liverpool failed to take a number of good chances to secure a victory in the 1-1 draw.
