Peterson 'feeling like 200-plus yards' against Redskins

"With his left ankle close to 100 percent, Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is eyeing the type of big-yardage performance that has become his trademark since entering the NFL in 2007.

Peterson has seven career games with at least 150 yards rushing, including a 175-yarder against Green Bay on Oct. 23. Since then, he has 220 rushing yards in fewer than four full games and sat three full games with the ankle sprain.

"I'm always feeling like 200-plus," Peterson said Thursday. "I might end up with 30, but I'm always feeling antsy and ready to roll."

Peterson, who finished with 60 yards on 10 carries in his return Sunday against New Orleans, no longer is listed on the injury report and plans to return to his slashing and cutting ways.

Peterson softened his stance when asked about his expressed displeasure with his lack of carries during his postgame interview Sunday.

"I think that got taken out of proportion. I feel like it really did," Peterson said. "Of course, I would have loved to get more carries. But then again, we got down by 21 so fast. I knew. I've been in this league a long time, even before I got into the league - when you're down by 21, you're not going to be running the ball. But that doesn't take away from how I felt. I would have loved to have gotten the ball more. But I couldn't, given the situation." "
