"Julius Peppers had three sacks against the Dolphins Thursday, but a review of the tape shows that was just a part of the destruction he created.
Here are some interesting facts about Peppers' dominating performance that were difficult to discern on the first viewing:
• Peppers brought down Tyler Thigpen three times in three ways. Once with a speed rush, once by starting with an outside rush and cutting back under and once on a coverage sack.
• Without Peppers, it's unlikely the Bears would have had two of their other three sacks. On Henry Melton's, he cut underneath Peppers while trying to run interference for him. As a result, the right tackle overreacted and lunged back at Peppers. With both the right tackle and right guard concentrating on Peppers, Melton was free to run to the quarterback."
