Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tomas Vokoun will be out 3-6 months after blood clots were discovered in his pelvic region two weeks ago.

I'm not thinking about my career or hockey" said Vokoun. "I'm worried about my long-term health. Thinking short-term."

Jeff Zatkoff will fill the backup role behind Marc-Andre Fleury.

The 37-year-old Vokoun was acquired by the Penguins from the Washington Capitals before last season and had a 13-4 record in 20 games.
