"Judging by how gingerly the Penguins' Bill Guerin was walking Tuesday night after taking a Chris Pronger clearing attempt on the foot, it wouldn't have been a huge surprise if he hadn't suited up Thursday at the Wachovia Center.
Guerin skipped Wednesday's practice but was back in uniform Thursday.
"It was fine," Guerin said. "It wasn't serious."
Guerin did not take another shift after being hit by the Pronger blast late in the third period Tuesday.
Jordan Staal was also injured Tuesday. He was nailed by an Evgeni Malkin slapshot in the stomach and did not play the remainder of the game. Staal, too, was fine and able to play Thursday in Philadelphia.
ยป Guerin has played for eight teams in his NHL career and has been a part of some huge rivalries. He played for the Devils in some their epic battles with the Rangers in the mid-90s and played for the Flames in many battles for Alberta against Edmonton. Guerin ranks the rivalry between the Penguins and Flyers at the top of the list."
