"Veteran free agent winger Bill Guerin said by text message today that Penguins general manager Ray Shero has informed him the club has decided not to attempt to re-sign him for the 2010-11 season.

Guerin, 39, was acquired from the New York Islanders at the 2009 trade deadline and helped the Penguins to a strong finish in the regular season and a run to the Stanley Cup title.

He has been a fixture on the top line alongside center Sidney Crosby and on the top power-play unit."
