Following Saturday's loss to San Diego, Charlie Manuel lamented his team's dearth of offense, noting that Hunter Pence was the only member of the lineup posting decent numbers.

The way things are going for the Phillies, Manuel should have known to knock on wood.

Pence became the latest member of the Phillies' roster to be scratched with an injury after the right fielder hurt his left shoulder diving for a ball in the third inning of Sunday's game.

"When I woke up (Monday), I didn't have the mobility that you need," said Pence, who struggled just to put on his jersey before Monday's game. "I want to try to do more, but they don't want me to. Hopefully it's not a big deal, but we have to get it checked out first."
