"For the Mets, it's another winter without having to worry about arbitration hearings.
The team yesterday avoided arbitration with Mike Pelfrey, Andres Torres, Ramon Ramirez and Manny Acosta by agreeing to terms with each player. Oliver Perez in 2008 was the last Mets player to actually go to arbitration.
Pelfrey will receive $5.68 million, and Torres and Ramirez — whom the Mets acquired from the Giants last month for Angel Pagan — will receive $2.7 million and $2.67 million, respectively. Acosta will get $875,000.
Pelfrey, who finished 7-13 with a 4.74 ERA, was the biggest financial gainer of the bunch, jumping from $3.93 million."
