"In an interview with The New York Times, Pedro Martinez indicated he is waiting for a call to help a team win the World Series.

Martinez, 39, has not officially retired and said he would be ready to pitch in a month to a month and a half if a team called him.

"I'm in shape right now and I'm training and I'm playing catch, so getting to full strength would probably take me a month, month and a half, to be on the mound," Martinez told the newspaper.
