"Chris Paul hit an acrobatic 3-pointer after Portland had rallied in the fourth quarter and then made a layup in the final seconds to lead the Clippers to a 93-88 victory over the Trail Blazers on Sunday night at Staples Center, earning their first home win of the season.

After Portland (3-1) had cut a 15-point deficit to single digits, Paul made an off-balance 3 from the top of the key as the shot clock expired, which inspired the Clippers (2-2) to tighten their defense and stop Portland's rally.

"Great players can not only make not make the shot, but they can make the play," said Clipper head coach Vinny Del Negro about the star point guard's shots.

Down the entire game, Portland made its final push to take the lead and the game with 33 seconds left and down 90-86. After a timeout, LaMarcus Aldridge hit a shot against DeAndre Jordan and got Portland within two with 25 seconds left.

Paul then replied for the Clippers with a drive and bucket with nine seconds left to get the Clippers back to a four-point lead at 92-88.

The Clippers then got possession after a jump ball and Mo Williams sealed the game with a free throw with 3 seconds left. "
