According to Mike Garafolo, Patriots LB Shea McClellin isn’t expected to be activated from the injured reserve list anytime soon, which implies that he has suffered a setback.

McClellin was eligible to return to the Patriots this week, but that won’t happen now and Ian Rapoport says that he’s likely out for the season.

New England was looking forward to McClellin returning after losing Dont’a Hightower for the season. However, it appears as though we won’t see McClellin again until next year.

The Patriots officially designated McClellin as one of their two players to return from injured reserve a few weeks ago, which opened a three-week window of time for New England to add him to their active roster.
