According to Michael Giardi, the Patriots fully expect the Giants to reach out to offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels regarding their head-coaching vacancy in the coming weeks.

This shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, given that McDaniels has been a hot coaching candidate the past few years. Some have speculated that Giants may also have interest in Patriots executive Nick Caserio for their GM position to pair with McDaniels.

It’s still early in the process for the Giants and reports from Monday said that New York will likely target a GM first before turning their attention to finding a head coach.

The Giants’ head-coaching job should be attractive, even though there are question marks at quarterback moving forward. As of now, the team is in position to have a top 2 or 3 pick, so a new head coach would have an opportunity to draft a quarterback to develop in the coming years.
