From the outset of the season, point guard Tony Parker has been the Spurs' best player.

In recent home games, it's gotten to where the team's fans have taken to chanting "M-V-P" while he shoots free throws.

There was no opportunity Wednesday night for such adulation during a 98-84 loss to the Lakers at the AT&T Center. Parker never got to the foul line as he struggled through his worst home game of the season, a 2-for-12 shooting performance that produced only four points.

"I just missed shots," Parker said. "I had great shots, great looks. They just didn't go in. I didn't play well."
