"Panthers center Mike Santorelli, who enjoyed a breakthrough season last year with 20 goals, sustained a shoulder injury in the second period of Tuesday's 4-3 overtime loss to Dallas and will be out for at least 3-4 weeks.

"He certainly won't be ready for the start of the season,'' Panthers coach Kevin Dineen said after Wednesday's practice at Saveology.com Iceplex. "It's at least a couple of weeks and we'll see where he goes from there.

"He's obviously disappointed, but we're all optimistic he's going to be back.''"
