"The Carolina Panthers' offensive line depth took another hit Thursday when versatile reserve Garry Williams injured his left leg during the first quarter of a 33-17 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers at Bank of America Stadium.
Williams, who was starting at right guard for injured Mackenzy Bernadeau, was carted off the field with a balloon cast on his lower leg. The Panthers didn't announce the nature of the injury, but the team's radio network reported Williams had broken the leg.
The Panthers already have lost tackle Geoff Schwartz for the season with a hip injury. Bernadeau missed Thursday's game with turf toe.
Williams, in his third year out of Kentucky, started 11 games for the Panthers last season.
On a brighter note, starting right tackle Jeff Otah, who hadn't played since the 2009 season with a knee injury, was back in the starting lineup."
