The Panthers got a boost to their offense with the return of Jonathan Huberdeau Thursday night against the Senators.

After missing two games with a sore and swollen foot, Huberdeau was back skating Thursday morning with regular linemates Nick Bjugstad and Scottie Upshall.

Huberdeau probably could have played Tuesday in Toronto, interim coach Peter Horachek said, but “It’s a situation where we didn’t have to put him back in.”

Huberdeau took a shot off the foot Friday against Washington, and Sunday in Montreal missed the first game of his career after playing in the first 81.

“We’re playing good right now, so I want to be a part of it and help the team,” Huberdeau said after participating in the full pregame skate Thursday morning. “I feel good this morning. I want to be in the lineup. If I’m in the lineup, I’ll be playing hard.”

The Panthers won the first two games of the four-game Canadian tour without him, 2-1 in Montreal and 3-1 at Toronto.
