"It appears more and more likely the Green Bay Packers will place the franchise tag on tight end Jermichael Finley, as the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported Saturday that there have not been any recent talks between the tight end's agent and the Packers.

Finley is in the final year of his contract, which pays him $1.2 million this season. He told the newspaper that no progress have been made on a new deal.

The Journal Sentinel also reported that if the two sides can't agree on a long-term deal, the Packers likely are to place a franchise tag on Finley in March."
