Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy announced Wednesday that tight Martellus Bennett will be out for Sunday’s game against the Chicago Bears due to a shoulder injury. The veteran pass catcher is getting opinions on his injury, per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Bennett is in his first season with the franchise after inking a three-year deal worth $21 million during the free-agency period. He spent the 2016 season with the New England Patriots and won a Super Bowl to boot.

How much time the 10th-year pro has left on the playing field remains unseen, as he hinted at a potential retirement following the conclusion of this season.

It hasn’t been the greatest first half and change for Bennett, who has caught only 24 passes for 233 yards without recording a touchdown.
