"Montreal forward Max Pacioretty has signed a two-year contract to stay with the Canadiens through the 2012-13 season, the team announced Monday. The terms of the contract were not disclosed by the team, but TSN is reporting the full value of the contract at $3.25 million.
Had he not signed, Pacioretty would have become a restricted free agent July 1.
"Happy to announce I just signed a two-year deal with the Habs," Pacioretty wrote on his Twitter account Monday. "Really looking forward to getting this season started now."
