"With the comments from last night's T.Ocho Show still fresh on everyone's mind, Terrell Owens and coach Marvin Lewis addressed the fallout.
Owens said he realized that it was going to create headlines when he said the 2-11 Bengals were "underachieving from the top down" but reiterated that everyone was to blame.
"I pointed out or mentioned that is started from the top down. That includes layers, so, it's not like I was singling anyone out," he said. "That's not the first time in my career where either I or anybody has said it starts from the top down or players have felt like our coaches have gotten outcoached or what have you. So, it's just not here. I have said that elsewhere."
When asked how far to the top does it go, Owens said he was trying to make a general statement. However, it wasn't a general statement when he gave his opinions on a 2-11 record.
"Obviously its disappointing because when I was brought here I knew my role. I understood why I was being brought here," Owens said. "It has become embarrassing. Obviously, sometimes, every week it has been at topic why we are losing. It's one of those things where I can't be ashamed to address it. It is what it is. To be 2-11 at this time, how can you hide from it? I am not going to back down because somebody asked me anything about why we are 2-11."
Lewis publicly came to the defense of Owens when asked if he heard the comments."
