The work is not done for Bryan Murray and the Senators.

Not only did the Senators GM get a deal in place for backup Robin Lehner during a lunch Wednesday in Ottawa with representatives of Newport Sports, Murray also went to work on keeping two of his big free agents in the fold.

While Newport's Craig Oster represents Lehner, Murray also took the chance to speak with Newport's Don Meehan, Pat Morris and Mark Guy about clients Bobby Ryan and Clarke MacArthur.

Both are set to become unrestricted free agents next July and have expressed an interest to stay in Ottawa.

"We had really productive talks on Clarke MacArthur and Bobby Ryan. As you guys know these deals don't get done in a day, Bryan had preliminary talks with the agents beforehand and (Wednesday) I'd call it productive talks on both sides of things," said assistant GM Pierre Dorion."

"I'd like to get these deals done yesterday and I'd like them done July 1 at 12:01 pm but they take a little while. They're guys that are both going to be pending UFAs so you have to make sure it works well for both parties."
