The Senators had a rare Saturday off to rest, relax and get ready for the week ahead.

After wrapping up a five-game road trip with a 3-2 victory over the New York Rangers Friday at Madison Square Garden, the Senators will return to practice Sunday before hosting the Boston Bruins Monday at Scotiabank Place.

The victory against the Rangers couldn't have come at a better time. It halted a four-game losing skid and gave the Senators a much-needed boost of confidence as they moved into the second half of the schedule.

"We have to keep pushing ourselves," said captain Daniel Alfredsson. "We talk all the time. I don't think we can only look at the standings. It's how we play and do we get better? Do we learn from the bad games and from the good games?
