"After missing all of last season with a knee injury, Panthers right tackle Jeff Otah returned to the field last Sunday in Arizona only to suffer a concussion that sidelined him from practice Wednesday.
Head coach Ron Rivera said Otah is going through the NFL-mandated concussion protocol and it's unclear when he will be able to return. If Otah isn't able to play against Green Bay Sunday, Rivera said rookie Byron Bell would start with Lee Ziemba, another rookie, as his backup.
The injury happened on a third-quarter interception when Otah was hit in the open field. Otah played the remainder of the game and Rivera said team officials weren't aware of the condition until Monday."
