Here are a few storylines to watch as the Eagles begin this week's mandatory minicamp, which runs through Thursday. It's the final set of offseason practices before training camp begins at the NovaCare Complex on June 22 (see story). All players were present Tuesday morning except defensive tackle Isaac Sopoaga (excused because of a death in family) and two rookies: Zach Ertz and Jordan Poyer (graduation rules).

Kenny’s powers
Kenny Phillips is expected to practice this week after missing the last round of organized team activities to rest his surgically repaired knee, which raised some major red flags and instantly threw the former Giants safety into the same conversation as Steve Smith. The Eagles are banking on Phillips to team with Patrick Chung and make people forget about the incompetence at that position over the past two seasons. It would sure help if Phillips could actually get onto the practice field, and stay there.

Peters' principle
The team is hopeful that Jason Peters has tended to his personal issues and is back at left tackle for this final camp before the real camp. If he’s back, the focus shifts to the right side, where Dennis Kelly had started until he moved to the left side to sub for Peters, enabling rookie Lane Johnson to get some first-team reps at right tackle. With Peters back, it’ll be interesting to see if it’s Kelly or the No. 4 overall pick on the right side.
