Texas sophomore offensive tackle Kent Perkins underwent successful arthroscopic knee surgery Friday and will miss the remainder of spring practice, according to Texas Head Athletic Trainer for Football Anthony Pass.

The sophomore tackle sustained the injury near the beginning of spring practice, according to head coach Charlie Strong.

Perkins is expected to return for fall camp, according to UT, and has begun rehabilitation for the injury.

The 6-foot-5, 295-pound lineman is expected to compete for the starting left or right tackle job next season
