Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik skated with other injured teammates on Friday morning at Consol Energy Center.

Six days earlier, Orpik was the victim of an attack from Boston's Shawn Thornton, who will receive a punishment from the NHL at a hearing today.

The Penguins have confirmed that Orpik sustained a concussion from the incident and that he was unconscious for at least 30 seconds. General manager Ray Shero said that Orpik has no memory of the incident.

Orpik was removed from the ice on a stretcher and taken to a Boston hospital but did fly home with the Penguins last Saturday.

The Penguins host New Jersey tonight. There is not a known timetable for Orpik's return.
