Rockets center Dwight Howard is scheduled to play both games of the Rockets’ road back-to-back against the Knicks and Pistons for the first time this season, but might not be through sitting out games.

With the Rockets playing five games this week, Howard is expected to be held out of one of the three games after the road trip – either against the Pelicans on Wednesday, Mavericks on Thursday or Kings on Saturday.

The Rockets are 1-4 in games Howard has missed this season. Howard has played an average of 33 minutes per game, but has averaged 38 minutes per game in his past four games. He is expected to get considerably less playing time in the back-to-back.
