The Baltimore Orioles have signed free agent outfielder/designated hitter Delmon Young to a minor-league deal that includes an invitation to major-league camp, the club announced Monday.

Young, 28, hit .260/.307/.407 with 16 doubles, 11 homers and 38 RBI in 361 plate appearances last season combined for two different teams. He was released by the Phillies in the middle of August and picked up by the Rays a week later.

Though he's not exactly coming off a good season, Young appears to have a great shot at playing time for Baltimore.
