Roberto Nelson had 14 points and five assists as the visiting Beavers benefited from a comfortable early lead.

Angus Brandt added 13 points and Devon Collier scored 12 off the bench for Oregon State (15-12, 7-8 Pac-12). Langston Morris-Walker matched his career high with 11 points - all in the first half - and Eric Moreland posted seven points, 14 rebounds and three blocks for the Beavers.

J.T. Terrell scored a season-high 21 points for USC (10-18, 1-14), which has lost nine straight. Byron Wesley added nine points and Roschon Prince led the reserves with eight for the Trojans.

Brandt forced two early fouls and made four free throws as the Beavers seized an 11-2 lead just over three minutes into the game. The Trojans went nearly seven minutes without a field goal as Oregon State stretched its lead to as much as 17-3 and the Trojans were chasing double digits until a breakaway dunk by Terrell with 2:40 left cut the deficit to 68-60.

The Trojans crept as close as five on a pair of free throws by Pe’Shon Howard with 1:44 left, but he missed a jumper 34 seconds later that would have cut the deficit to four. The Beavers sealed the win by shooting 7-for-10 from the line over the final 1:19.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Oregon State freshman G Hallice Cooke was ejected with 3:15 remaining after contact with Terrell away from the ball. Cooke came in leading the Pac-12 in 3-point shooting percentage (48.6) but shot 0-for-1 from long range and has missed his last nine overall. … Oregon State joins Oregon, Utah and Washington in a tie for seventh in Pac-12 play. The Beavers still must face the top two teams in the conference standings in their next two games - at UCLA and against visiting Arizona - before closing out the regular season against visiting Arizona State on March 8. … Oregon State 6-10 F Daniel Gomis blocked four shots off the bench and the Beavers had nine.
